I know that it can be hereditary and that it’s more common for people who suffer with obesity have a higher risk of it, but if you eat a lot of sugar, are you at risk for it too? Just curious!

I’m 26 weeks now and I have the glucose test coming up in a week or so. I couldn’t help eating a bag of sour gummy worms. I don’t really eat to much sugar, but I drink a lot of oj, and grape juice. What causes gestational diabetes?

Does eating sweets cause diabetes?

What causes diabetes? eating sweets like ice cream, chocolate, cookies etc? or stress, lack of exercise and body fat?
create answer, I feel well informed. thanks alot.I don’t have to abandon eating my favorite cookies, but rather fast foods.

I am a little freaked out right now. I have always had a really good bloodsugar when I went in for checkups and I am going to nursing school. We had a blood sugar testing station at our fair and I had mine tested and it said mine was at the high level of normal, right on the line of pre diabetes. The night before I had a bowl of cereal and that morning I had a mountain dew and two donuts. Could this cause my blood sugar to rise?

I would like to know if eating sugar a night before the fasting blood sugar test affect the results next morning. For eg if I eat some good deserts on the night before my fasting blood sugar test the next day, will it affect the results drastically or mildly or none at all ?
I am sure it affects the PP test results but does it affect the fasting tests as well ?
